Administrative Associate

Required Qualifications

High School Diploma with at least 5 years of clerical experience OR a Bachelor’s Degree with at least 1 year of experience at the Administrative Assistant level. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Excellent written, and verbal skills. Ability to communicate effectively with team members and students. A high degree of confidentiality is required for sensitive information. Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision. Professional demeanor, punctuality, reliability, attention to detail, and accuracy are essential. Must be a self-starter with the ability to use good judgment on behalf of the Principal Investigator (PI) and managers. Ability to adapt to changing work environment and learn quickly. Display resiliency in the face of logistical challenges and the ability to troubleshoot independently. Proficient in Microsoft Suite (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel). Values the contributions of others in a diverse work environment.

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

More than required years of experience. Experience providing administrative support to a Principal Investigator (PI) and/or managers.Familiarity in an academic research environment and processes. Familiarity with The University of Texas at Austin (UT) administrative policies and procedures.

Salary Range

$50,000 + depending on qualifications

Working Conditions
  • May work around standard office conditions
  • Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation
  • Ability to work remotely
Work Shift
  • M-F, Flexible between 8 am-6 pm
