Science to Practice Laboratory

Building Community Partnerships

In 2023, the ARI launched the Science to Practice Lab to facilitate innovative collaboration among academic scientists and community partners. These partnerships create a real-world scientific-practice laboratory based in a local community organization to expedite the translation of research into the real world. This lab provides our community partners access to researchers to support community-driven scientific initiatives.

CLEAN Cause Foundation

The CLEAN Cause Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization formed with the founding purpose to act as a trustee for giveback funds generated by CLEAN Cause, Inc. The vision of the CLEAN Cause Foundation is to create a world where everyone with a substance use disorder has what they need to support their recovery journey. Their mission is to bridge the critical gap between addiction and early recovery by funding recovery housing initiatives that promote best practices, further research, and impact systems change.

San Antonio Nexus Connection

The San Antonio Nexus Connection provides harm-reduction resources to the San Antonio community through free HIV and STI testing, Narcan, syringe exchange, and wound kits. SANC’s mission is to promote, develop, enhance and pilot sustainable overdose prevention efforts and modalities in the fields of SUD and Sexual Health. With outreach events and volunteer packing opportunities, the public is helping create a caring and welcoming community for those encountering substance use.

Recovery People

Recovery People helps to ensure there is a recovery support in every community and is accessible to everyone. Recovery People started in 2009 as one of Texas’ first recovery homes for gay/bisexual men. Since, they have helped open recovery houses across the state, developed a national Workforce Development Team and advocate for recovery housing with creation of Recovery Day at the Capitol where organizations across Texas come together to meet with state representatives and senators to advocate for recovery housing.
