Childhood Psychological Maltreatment –
Essentials for Evidence-Based Counseling

Childhood psychological maltreatment (CPM) is the most widespread and damaging form of child maltreatment; however, it is the least studied form of abuse. Presenters will discuss the long-term psychological and social impact of CPM, the barriers to effectively counsel individuals with CPM histories, and the evidence-based interventions and complementary approaches for comprehensively addressing the issues those with CPM histories experience.

  • Overview Childhood psychological maltreatment and its relationship to substance use.
  • Gain information on barriers to effective counseling with individuals who have experienced Childhood psychological maltreatment.
